Our Mission
We are dedicated to the empower-ment of the rural populations of Intibucá, Honduras by providing a participative alternative learning program, primary grades through high school, that promotes critical thinking and free expression of thoughts and opinions.
Our Challenge
- Only 30% literacy in rural areas
- Average rural income is $2 a day
- Most rural schools end at 6th grade
- Frequent teacher strikes
- Average rural teacher attendance is 3 days
- Required 200 school days is never completed
- Classes are 1/2 day
